Linux distro

April 13, 2012

So it has been a while since my last post. (3 years) I have learned a lot in this time. Mainly I have gotten way more familiar with Linux. Distro hopped for a while until I settled on a Debian testing netinstall with no X server to start. I enjoy Debian for the ease of use. It’s what I am familiar with and enjoy using. From there I built it up with a base X install and openbox. It is an amazing feeling when you have something minimal that works amazingly. I liked openbox but decided to use XFCE for the extra features and more polish. All while still being a light install. If I had a problem, a few minutes and Google fixed it. Still being a Windows guy at heart I installed wine and proceeded to get Spotify and Photoshop running in Debian. I feel like I have gained a deeper understanding of what goes on behind the walls of a Linux distro.

Hello world!
